35 Plus Years of Service to the Greater Lowell Community
Recovery House
- Co-ed Halfway Home
The Recovery Home has been serving men and women since1972. The program is located at 102 Appleton St. in the heart of downtown Lowell, and within walking distance to the commuter rail and local public transportation.
We are a DPH funded non-profit substance abuse program that provides individual and group counseling addressing the issues of addiction and the problems surrounding it. We also provide referrals, HIV/AIDS prevention and education, and case management to individuals who are preparing to return to the community as independent and substance free members of society.
Persons served must be 18 years or older, and average length of stay is 6 months. Recovery is the focus of the program but residents are also encouraged to pursue vocational training during their stay and are allowed to work after 30 days.
The referral process begins with a phone intake. These are done on Tues. and Fri. from 9:30am to 11:00am. An appointment for a face to face interview is scheduled at the end of the phone intake. These interviews are scheduled on Wednesday between 9:30am and 10:45am.
